Abbey Clancy - Runner up of Britain's Next Top Model Cycle 2. Next Top Model alumna that became a superstar in Britain! Abbey was not a new kid in the entertainment industry when she auditioned for Britain's Next Top Model Cycle 2 in 2006. Previously he joined a girl band called Geenie Queen and had become the opening band for the famous British boy band, Blue, but unfortunately Geenie Queen did not last long and disbanded.
With her sexy & beautiful look and loud and bold character, Abbey immediately caught the attention of the judges and BNTM fans. Yes, her look maybe not the high fashion one but with her potential she nailed the commercial side easily! With her charisma and modeling talent, Abbey is able to produce good photos every week to the top-2. But unfortunately she was defeated by Lianna Fowler in the finale and failed to win the title of Britain's Next Top Model. Well, honestly i think she deserve the crown and she did outperform Lianna most of the season but if the judges were looking for a girl who could do well in HF, Lianna was the better choice out of the two.
Graduating from BNTM, Abbey began to seriously pursue the world of modeling. And as expected, Abbey is selling well in commercial and lingerie, swimsuit modeling. In 2007, Abbey appeared on the cover of Arena and FHM magazines and soon became one of the sexiest models in the world marked by being one of the 100 sexiest women according to FHM magazine, she was ranked 37th in FHM magazine's annual 100 sexiest women in the world poll of 2007. It doesn't stop there, apart from the Abbey model, she has also appeared in various tv shows such as Slave to Fashion and The Ultimate Bikini Guide for Channel 4, as a guest on programs such as Richard & Judy, The Chris Moyles Show, Friday Night. with Jonathan Ross, GMTV, This Morning, Hell's Kitchen and in her own reality TV series Abbey and Janice: Beauty and the Best which followed her attempts to break the Los Angeles modeling scene with Janice Dickinson as her mentor. Immediately Abbey gained status as a British celebrity and this status was strengthened by her relationship with Peter Crouch, a UK football player. Actually the relationship between Abbey and Crouch had been going on for a long time before she even became a finalist in BNTM. But had run aground and they just got back in touch again in 2006. In 2009 they finally got married and had 2 children.
With the status of a model, business women (yup she own fashion line), celebrity and WAG, Abbey is increasingly famous and appears in various magazines, in 2010 she became the first worldwide NTM franchise alumni to appear for the well-known magazine Sports Illustrated, not only that she was also present in various fashion and lifestyle magazines such as Glamor, Esquire, In Style Magazine, Jack Magazine, Marie Claire, Elle, Fabulous, Cosmopolitan, Women's Health to Vogue Russia !! And what i love about her is she is one of the few WAGS, however, who managed to establish herself as a celebrity before she met her partner, and not only depends on the status of the WAG and the profession of her husband. In 2015, with her increasingly bright career making Abbey finally trusted as the host of the tv show that made her name, yup, she's being a host for Britain's Next Top Model Cycle 9! And actually this is not his first experience, because in cycle 5 she was a guest judge!
Abbey is an example of how high fashion modeling is not the only door to success, commercial modeling is one way to achieve success in a modeling caree .. Now i wish she get more famous and success not only as a celebrity but also a model! Amen!
