Top Model - Winnie Harlow
Winnie Harlow - 6th place of America's Next Top Model cycle 21. The girl with Vitiligo skin condition who conquer the fashion industry. Chantelle Brown-Young or better known as Winnie Harlow, was diagnosed with the skin condition Vitiligo since the age of 4. A condition which the spots appeared all over her body. This made her a victim of bullying from a young age that made her depressed and had attempted suicide.
But this did not make her give up for follow her dream as a model, in 2014, Tyra Banks via Instagram managed to find Winnie and she became one of the finalists of America's Next Top Model cycle 21 and became the first Canadian contestant. Her journey at ANTM was not smooth, Winnie was eliminated in the second week and followed the comeback series with other eliminated models. After completing the comeback series, she was revealed to have received the highest average public vote score, and returned. After returning, Winnie was finally eliminated again at week 13 and finished in 6th place.
Graduated from ANTM, Winnie is serious about pursuing her modeling career. With her unique skin condition, beauty and modeling skills that are increasingly honed, Winnie's name is increasingly recognized by the world fashion industry. She successfully appeared in a campaign for one of the biggest fashion brands from Spain, Desigual. Since her appearance, Winni's career has skyrocketed, she has appeared in various fashion editorials in various magazines such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, CR Fashion Book, L'Officel and others. Not only that, Winnie is also trusted to appear in fashion campaigns from various well-known brands such as Byblos, Diesel, Desigual, Tommy Hilfiger, Nike, Puma, Sprite and Swarovski.
Not only serious in modeling, Winnie is also active in social activities. She is active spokeperson for vitiligo and talks about her life with this disease. She proved that vitiligo was not a barrier but something that made her special. In 2015, She was presented with the 'Role Model' award at the 2015 Portuguese GQ Men of The Year event.
Now i just wish she's gonna bigger in modeling industry, i want to see her more in runway, campaign, cover, editorial, beauty campaign etc... She has all the good to be more successful... Amen!
