Top Model - Meaghan Waller
Meaghan DeWarrenne Waller - Canada's Next Top Model (CNTM) Cycle 3 Winner. One of the biggest transformation ever in the Next Top Model franchise! Yes from the shy, lanky tomboy with braces in the beginning of the competition she transform to stunning top model. With her tomboyish nature, Meaghan never thought of being a model even though she had the ideal height for a runway (178cm) but she began to change her mind when several people started suggesting her to be a model including a scout agent model when she was still working as a retailer in the small town of Winnipeg, Canada. At first, she said "no" but she called back and Meaghan finally went in for some pictures and they sent them to Top Model.
Because CNTM auditions weren't being held in Winnipeg, Meaghan and her mother had to travel by morning plane to Toronto to audition. And while she stand in line with her high heels, she was asked to skip line by Olsen's assistant Richard Campbell. Meaghan is the only finalist with no prior modeling experience, she's totally green and totally fresh. But that does not make her insecure and even becomes the main driving force to catch up. Meaghan was the shy girl on the show because of her braces (later in the show she got her braces replaced with Invisalign), and the judges wanted to break that shell she had on. She started off pretty well and improved a lot like having photo of the week in episode 5. But her struggles during the competition were not always as smooth as the Covergirl photo challenge where everyone would be sure she would easily pass it turned out that she struggled because of the lack of confidence Meaghan had.
Even in the finale, the judges feared that her vulnerable attitude would break her down, but it's her charm and simple personality that made them love her. They loved her current look in fashion and her timeless and effortless beauty. And also the fact that she is the only one among the remaining 3 finalists fit in the strapless yellow versace dress means that she also has great potential to become a runway model (LOL). After a long deliberation she was crowned Canada's Next Top Model and defeated fellow competitor Linsay Willier.
A week after her victory, at the end of 2009, Meghan immediately started her career by flying to China and joining ESEE Model Management. There, she became a best-selling catalog model and also appeared in China's Marie Claire magazine and in the spring of 2010 she returned to Canada.
Meaghan started to explore international modeling by attending fashion week in London and thanks to her hard work she managed to walk for class A designers such as Giorgio Armani, Emporio Armani, Just Cavalli and J. Mendel. She even choose to be J. Mendel's house model/ exclusive. She has done everything with them from inspiration, fits, fashion videos, market appointments, his show, and just got back from traveling to Paris with them for a week. How is Meaghan's luck in this SS 2015 fashion week? I think she deserve more big runway and big campaign after all this year ... Amen !!
