Top Model - Josefin Gustafsson
Josefin Gustafsson - Winner of Sweden's Next Top Model cycle 6. The tomboyish girl with strong presence! Since the beginning of her appearance, Josefin immediately attracted attention. How come? Her strong, edgy look and boyish appearance made her different from other contestants in Sweden's Next Top Model.
Josefin was born in a small village named Täfteå, outside of Umeå in Sweden where her mother, father and younger brother still live. Prior to appearing on Sweden's Next Top Model, Gustafsson worked as a waitress in Stockholm, where she currently resides. She began to garner attention from local scouts in Sweden when she was thirteen, but both she and her parents felt she was too young at the time. She joined a modeling agency in Stockholm but it was hard to book casting calls and jobs because she was so far away, and she was rarely given much notice.
In 2013, Josefin auditioned for SwNTM and she managed to become one of the finalists. Her journey was not easy, the tomboyish look that made her standout sometimes also became a negative criticism for her from the judges and mentors. But she got frequently came out on top of the individual competitions and received high praise for the way she took directive from the different photographers each week. After winning the competition, her modeling career finally change.
After SwNTM, Josefin was recruited by IMG models New York and Milan. And it immediately caught the attention of the modeling industry. In 2014 she became the face of Panos Emporio. The same year she was also photographed by Nick Haddow for the September issue of Wonderland. The shoot was styled by Grace Cobb. In August, she was featured in an editorial in Elle UK alongside Irina Kulikova and Franzi Mueller. It was shot by Kai Z Feng. In November she was featured in a collaboration with Brydie Mack's Wolfcub Chronicles for Surf Collective NYC. The shoot was photographed by Tim Swallow. Josefin has also gained a large following for her street style when off the set, which is full of tomboyish looks.
Now she's taking a break from modeling and hopefully she will make a comeback and become one of the world's top models again. Amen!
